Travel to Australia
Visa Information
As we prepare for this exciting global gathering, we want to make sure that your journey is seamless. If you are travelling from outside of Australia, please take a moment to review the visa application guidelines to ensure a smooth entry into Australia.
All international delegates are responsible for arranging their own travel documentation. Most visitors to Australia will require a valid visa to enter the country.
How to Apply
Applying for your Australian visa is straightforward and can be done through official Australian Government channels.
- Visit the Department of Home Affairs website: immi.homeaffairs.gov.au
- Popular visa options for conference delegates include:
- Request a letter of invitation for your visa application – see section below.
- Use the online system ImmiAccount to submit your application and upload supporting documents.
Tips for a Smooth Application
- Apply early: Allow plenty of time. We recommend international delegates apply at least 6–8 weeks before travel.
- Prepare documents:
- Ensure your passport is valid for at least six months beyond your travel date.
- We recommend your registration details for the Conference (first name, surname and email address) exactly match those that you will enter on your visa application.
- Include supporting information:
- You may need a copy of your OTCC 2027 registration confirmation, accommodation details, and financial details.
- To receive a Letter of Invitation to OTCC 2027, you can request this here. Alternatively, a Letter of Invitation will be sent once you have completed payment of your Conference registration.
- Check eligibility:
- Requirements vary by nationality.
- Confirm visa types and processing times on the official website.
- Monitor your application: Use your ImmiAccount to track progress and provide additional documents if requested.
Letters of Invitation for Visa Applications
When assessing whether you meet the criteria for the grant of a visa, the Department of Home Affairs may take into account whether you are registered or were invited to attend the event. Confirmation of registration, or a copy of your letter of invitation, should accompany visa applications. For online subclass 400 and subclass 600 applications, information about documents that need to be attached will be provided as part of the application process.
There are two ways to receive your letter of invitation:
- Complete your online registration for the Conference (and your letter will be issued automatically as part of the registration confirmation process).
- Request a letter of invitation here.
